HISTORY
Lorenzo Banfi was established in the 1970s in one of the districts historically renowned for quality and tradition in the footwear sector. The manufacturing factories, both ultra modern and functional, are located in Parabiago.
The choice of Parabiago has proved to be a winner on two sides, not only for being a crucial area of footwear traditions, but also for its proximity to Milan, which has enabled the experiencing and participation in the birth and success of the Made in Italy production.
Over the years, apart from manufacturing shoes, a line of leather goods, cashmere pullovers, leather and sportswear, ties and scarves have been added. Lorenzo Banfi has a showroom in Via Montenapoleone and a shop in Via Sant'Andrea, Milan.
The brand is present in more than 24 countries throughout the world at prestigious sales points and in the most important speciality stores.
CRAFTSMANSHIP
Nowadays everything has to be manufactured incredibly faster and with less human involvement. We consider important to know, however, that there are people who take all the time needed for "a well done job".
Cutting and colouring, stitching, finishing and assemblying soles are only some of the most important operations still carried out by hand-making.
Our materials, rare and precious such as the Ascot Grained Leather*, are always and exclusively top quality. All accessories are designed and produced with a sense of exclusivity and excellence.
* Ascot Grained Leather is the special name of the leather imported from England, hand treated by Lorenzo Banfi craftsmen with particular substances and prolonged procedures similar to the polishing of fine wood.
WORKING
Ascot Grained Leather: HAND-POLISHING Only top quality rawhides are dyed in natural pigments. The hand performed buffing produces transparencies, shades and depths of colour that would otherwise be unobtainable.
CUTTING Following the seasoning phase, to ensure the considerable shades of the hides and skins, and to deliver a pair of shoes aesthetically homogeneous, all that is needed is the long experience and craftsmanship of the cutter.
ASSEMBLY AND STITCHING Delicate and laborious operations bring perfect aesthetics and product reliability and this is only possible through manual performance.
STARCHING AND PRESSING A long and meticulous work enables the pigmented substances to attach permanently to the skin.
BRUSHING Each shoe is delicately brushed with various types of natural polishing waxes
